Harlington Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Harlington Carpet Cleaners provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing our operatives to begin work, you agree to be bound by these terms. They are designed to be clear, fair, and practical, while protecting both the customer and Harlington Carpet Cleaners. If any part of these terms is not understood, the customer should raise the matter before the service begins.
These terms apply to all carpet, upholstery, rug, stain-treatment, and related cleaning services supplied by Harlington Carpet Cleaners, whether the booking is made online, by telephone, by email, or through any other accepted method. They should be read together with any written quotation, booking confirmation, service notes, or special instructions agreed before the appointment. In the event of any inconsistency, the written quotation or confirmed order details will take precedence to the extent of the inconsistency.
The words we, us, and our refer to Harlington Carpet Cleaners. The words you and your refer to the person, business, landlord, tenant, or representative arranging the service. If you book on behalf of another person or property owner, you confirm that you have authority to do so and that the person benefiting from the service will comply with these terms where relevant.
All quotations are provided on the basis of the information supplied at the time of enquiry. Harlington carpet cleaners may revise a quotation if the scope of work changes, the property conditions differ from those described, or additional services are requested on arrival. Any price estimate is based on the assumption that reasonable access, safe working conditions, and normal levels of soiling apply. If we identify an issue that materially affects the price or the practicality of carrying out the service, we will explain the position before continuing wherever reasonably possible.
Booking process begins when you provide the service details and we confirm availability. A booking is not final until we have issued confirmation, which may include the date, time window, service type, and any agreed price. You must provide accurate information about the property, the items to be cleaned, known stains or damages, parking restrictions, access issues, and any special requirements. If incorrect or incomplete details are supplied, Harlington Carpet Cleaners may adjust the service or cancel the booking without liability for any resulting inconvenience.
We may ask for a deposit, pre-authorisation, or full payment in advance for certain appointments, larger jobs, or commercial cleans. Where a deposit is required, the booking may not be secured until the deposit is received. If payment is not made by the required deadline, we may release the appointment and offer it to another customer. The customer is responsible for ensuring that payment information provided is valid and that sufficient funds are available on the relevant date.
All prices are shown in pounds sterling unless stated otherwise. Unless expressly agreed in writing, prices are exclusive of any additional charges arising from unusual contamination, excessive furniture moving, specialist stain treatment, or circumstances that were not disclosed before arrival. We reserve the right to charge for extra time, materials, or equipment if these are reasonably necessary to complete the service safely and effectively. The customer will always be informed before any material increase is applied, where practicable.
Payments must be made using the methods we accept at the time of booking or completion. Payment may be due immediately after the service, on invoice within an agreed period, or in advance depending on the booking type. If payment is made by card, bank transfer, or another electronic method, you confirm that you are authorised to use that payment method. Any bank charges, chargeback fees, or collection costs incurred due to failed or reversed payments may be recovered from you to the extent permitted by law.
Where payment terms are agreed on invoice, the invoice must be paid by the due date shown. If the invoice remains unpaid after the due date, we may charge statutory interest and reasonable recovery costs in accordance with applicable UK law. Harlington Carpet Cleaners reserves the right to suspend future services, withhold non-essential reports or documentation, or decline further bookings until all outstanding sums are settled. Nothing in these terms limits any rights we may have to recover unpaid sums through lawful channels.
Cancellations and rescheduling should be made as soon as possible if you no longer require the appointment. Where a booking is cancelled with sufficient notice, we will usually seek to rearrange it or apply any deposit in accordance with the terms agreed at booking. If you cancel at short notice, especially after we have reserved staff time, prepared equipment, or travelled to site, a cancellation charge may apply. The amount of any charge will be reasonable and may reflect the loss incurred.
If our operative arrives at the property and is unable to commence work because of lack of access, incorrect key arrangements, no one present where attendance is required, unsafe conditions, or a failure by you to prepare the area as agreed, the appointment may be treated as a late cancellation or wasted visit. In such circumstances, Harlington Carpet Cleaners may charge the full or partial booking amount, together with any additional costs reasonably incurred. We will always act fairly and proportionately when assessing any charge.
We may also cancel or reschedule a booking if circumstances beyond our control prevent attendance or safe completion of the work. This may include severe weather, traffic disruption, equipment failure, illness, staff shortage, or other events outside our reasonable control. Where we cancel for such reasons, we will offer an alternative date or a refund of any amount paid for the affected service, as appropriate. Our liability in those circumstances is limited to the amount paid for the cancelled service, except where law states otherwise.
Service conditions and customer responsibilities are important to the quality and safety of the work. You must ensure that the areas to be cleaned are reasonably clear and that fragile, valuable, or sensitive items are removed unless we have specifically agreed to handle them. We may move light furniture where appropriate, but we are not obliged to move heavy, fixed, dangerous, or high-value items. Any furniture movement carried out by us is at your risk unless damage arises from our negligence.
Before cleaning begins, you should disclose all known issues including colour loss, wear, previous repairs, water damage, loose dye, hidden stains, mould, structural defects, and sensitive flooring beneath carpets or rugs. Certain marks may not be fully removable, and some materials may react unpredictably to cleaning solutions. While Harlington Carpet Cleaners will exercise reasonable skill and care, we do not guarantee complete stain removal, restoration to new condition, or identical results across different fibres and materials.
Drying times are estimates only and may vary depending on fibre type, ventilation, humidity, room temperature, and the level of soiling. You should keep cleaned areas free from normal use until sufficiently dry. We are not responsible for re-soiling, transfer of dye, or damage caused by premature use, opening windows at the wrong time, or contact with pets, footwear, or furniture before the surface has dried adequately.
Liability is limited to losses that are a direct and foreseeable result of our breach of contract or negligence. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other matter that cannot legally be limited. Subject to those exceptions, Harlington Carpet Cleaners will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses such as loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of enjoyment.
Where damage is alleged to have been caused during a service, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible and in any event before the affected area is altered, re-cleaned, or repaired by a third party. We may ask for photographs, purchase details, prior condition evidence, and an opportunity to inspect the item. If we are found to be responsible, our preferred remedy will normally be repair, replacement, re-cleaning, or a refund reflecting the reduced value of the service, at our reasonable discretion and subject to law.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, hidden faults, wear and tear, age-related deterioration, unstable seams, delamination, colour loss, or failures caused by the inherent condition of the item or surface. Likewise, we are not responsible for damage caused by unsuitable instructions from the customer, failure to disclose relevant information, or the use of products applied after our service by another person. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer where applicable.
Waste regulations apply to the removal, handling, and disposal of waste generated during cleaning operations. Harlington Carpet Cleaners will handle waste in accordance with applicable UK environmental and waste management laws. This may include dirty solution, extracted waste water, disposable materials, or contaminated cleaning materials. We will take reasonable steps to prevent pollution, avoid unlawful discharge, and ensure that waste is transferred, stored, and disposed of responsibly.
You agree not to ask us to dispose of items, substances, or materials that are prohibited, hazardous, or outside the normal scope of the service unless we have expressly agreed to do so in writing and are legally permitted to handle them. Where the service produces waste that belongs to you or your property, you are responsible for arranging any specialist removal required by law, unless we have agreed otherwise. If additional disposal costs arise because of hazardous or excessive waste, those costs may be passed on to you.
Environmental care is important to our working practices. We aim to use cleaning products and methods that are suitable for the task while reducing unnecessary waste where reasonably possible. However, the choice of cleaning system will depend on the material, soil level, and safety considerations. If an item, substance, or surface is unsuitable for standard cleaning and requires specialist treatment or disposal, we may decline to proceed or may adjust the service and price accordingly.
Access and safety requirements must be met before the service can begin. You must make reasonable arrangements for entry, including keys, codes, porters, parking permission, or authorised access where relevant. You are responsible for notifying us of any hazards on site, such as exposed wiring, weak flooring, water leaks, aggressive animals, or other risks. If we believe the site is unsafe, we may pause or stop work until the issue is resolved.
We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw service if the conditions are unsuitable, if our staff are subjected to abuse, harassment, or threats, or if the customer attempts to pressure us into unsafe or unlawful conduct. In such cases, any charges already incurred may remain payable. We will always seek to act reasonably, but the health and safety of our personnel and the protection of property must take priority.
Any items left on the premises are the customer’s responsibility unless we have expressly agreed to store or handle them. Please check that small valuables, documents, jewellery, and portable electronics have been removed from the work area. While care is taken during all visits, Harlington Carpet Cleaners cannot accept responsibility for items that should reasonably have been secured or removed before cleaning commenced.
Complaints should be raised promptly so that any issue can be reviewed while the relevant information remains available. We may request photographs, a description of the concern, and details of the cleaning process or area involved. If a complaint is upheld, we may offer a return visit, partial refund, correction of the issue, or another remedy that is fair in the circumstances. Our aim is to resolve concerns efficiently and professionally.
Nothing in these terms creates a partnership, employment relationship, or agency relationship between the customer and Harlington Carpet Cleaners. We may use subcontractors or suitably qualified third parties to carry out all or part of the service, provided they meet our standards. These terms apply equally where such personnel are used, and any reference to our actions or obligations includes authorised personnel acting on our behalf.
If any provision of these terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remainder will continue in force. Failure by us to enforce any term immediately will not prevent us from enforcing it later. No waiver will be effective unless expressly stated in writing.
Governing law and jurisdiction are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute, claim, or matter arising out of or in connection with these terms, the booking, or the services provided by Harlington Carpet Cleaners will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer rules provide otherwise. If a customer is based elsewhere in the United Kingdom, these terms will still be interpreted in line with the applicable legal framework for the service provided.
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in our service arrangements, legal requirements, or business practices. The version in force at the time of your booking will generally apply to that booking, unless a change in law requires an immediate update. We recommend that customers review the terms before each new appointment to ensure they remain satisfied with the conditions under which the service is offered.
By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these terms in full. If you do not agree to them, you should not confirm the booking or permit the service to begin. Harlington Carpet Cleaners thanks you for taking the time to review this document and looks forward to providing a professional, reliable, and well-managed cleaning service.
